Fume Hood Sash Management - It's More Important than You Think!!Fume Hoods are here for Your Safety!Laboratory fume hoods are safety devices intended to protect a worker's breathing zone from hazardous vapors released during the course of handling chemicals. Fume hoods are designed to create enough air velocity through either the open sash or airfoil bypass to prevent vapors from exiting the fume hood and exhausting them outside. Modern fume hoods are designed a bypass airfoil sill so that the sash can be completely shut while still maintaining proper airflow. Fume Hood Facts
